Bio: Lorraine Radford joined UCLAN in 2012 and is currently Professor of Social Policy & Social Work University of Central Lancashire, Co-Director of Connect Centre for International Research on Interpersonal ViolenceShe has over 26 years social research experience into all forms of inter personal violence against children, young people and women working collaboratively with other researchers, professionals, policy makers and service providers in the UK and overseas.

Her experience includes senior research and influencing positions in the voluntary sector, Department of Health as well as current and prior university posts. She has experience in qualitative and quantitative research methods, including systematic reviews, experience in leadership and research project management and has managed complex, multi-site research teams. Research directly relevant to child sexual abuse and exploitation includes: research with UNICEF on effective responses to child sexual abuse and exploitation; mapping therapeutic services for sexually abused children in the UK; sexual and domestic violence services in Wales; PIECES policy interventions for child protection across the EU and the NSPCC study of child maltreatment in the UK; child protection responses review for The Lancet.
