NWG Network

The National Working Group (NWG) is a Charitable organisation formed as a UK network of over 12 000 practitioners who disseminate information down through their services, to professionals working on the issue of child sexual exploitation (CSE) and trafficking within the UK. As well as providing useful resources and learning and information sharing events for professionals, the Network offers support, advice and training. 

The NWG Network is the host organisation for the CSE Response Unit. 

Centre for Expertise on Child Sexual Abuse

A new Centre of expertise on child sexual abuse (CSA) has been launched. The overarching aim of the centre is to help bring about significant and system-wide change in how child sexual abuse is responded to locally and nationally. The Centre is funded by the Home Office and led by Barnardo’s. 

HMIC Child Protection Inspection Reports

Between January 2014 and June 2015, Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary (HMIC)  conducted inspections of different aspects of the police response to child protection issues. 

The EU Child Safety Online Project

The EU Child Safety Online Project is an international, multidisciplinary team working across academia, law enforcement and industry in order to advance understanding of online childhood sexual abuse.

Missing People

Missing People is a charity in the UK which is dedicated to bringing missing children and adults back together with their families. 

Police Knowledge Fund

The College of Policing, the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) and the Home Office launched the £10m Police Knowledge Fund in 2015 to encourage collaboration between academia and police forces in order to increase evidence-based knowledge, skills and problem solving approaches within policing. 

The CSE and Policing Knowledge Hub is funded under the Police Knowledge Fund. On this site you can find information about the other successful bids.  

MsUnderstood

MsUnderstood is a partnership between the University of Bedfordshire, Imkaan, and the Girls against Gangs project to develop local and national responses to peer-on-peer abuse.
